Thomas the Tank Engine has always been a beloved character on the Island of Sodor. He is known for his cheerful personality, blue color, and distinctive face. Thomas has been around since the early 1940s, when he was built by the North Wales Railway at their works in Ruabon. He was originally painted green and used for heavy haulage work in the quarries around Ruabon.
